The Citizens Advice service helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice.

Illegal Money Lending Unit

The Illegal Money Lending Unit (IMLU) is based in Cardiff and works in partnership with all 22 local authorities across Wales to investigate illegal moneylenders.
Illegal money lending covers a range of activities from persons that are actually licensed but are acting unlawfully, such as canvassing off trade premises, to the extreme of a person offering cash loans without being licensed at all.
The IMLU also helps victims of illegal moneylenders with practical help and support through and in conjunction with the services of the local debt advice teams and national debt line.
